The Message

At the heart of any source of information is the message, the focus on a topic that has appeal beyond the author. In this “new” medium, it’s referred to as content… a rather dry word for what can be exciting, informative or entertaining. Nonetheless, it represents the real reason anyone visits a Web site. This category evaluates what you have to say and how you say it.

The watchword here is you. The content on your site should reflect your own interests, personal or commercial, and be original in most respects. It can include text, images or multimedia elements, but should be your creation. A site with nothing more than links may have its own value and intrinsic beauty, but speaks little of its creator. We’re looking for heart & soul here that includes a significant measure of Message. But we insist that if others’ work is included on your site, you follow International Copyright laws and give credit where it is due…and only when it has been assigned. (Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.)
